What's New

Posts in Califia
Hello Santa (barbara) and Goodbye 2020!

I’m writing this on our Winter Solstice… the shortest day of the year. That means there is only more light coming tomorrow. For me, the light is lost around 3pm in my studio during the winter. This year, I did a major re-organization in the studio. A big “spring clean” during late fall. I am ready to start a new 2021! How about you?

So much has happened in 2020. My Califia Series debuted at Sullivan Goss. I am still following that muse and finished the year by adding My Lover’s Eye- Comet Neowise to the Lover’s Eye collection.

It seems that starry nights have filled the most recent panels. The little trio are an interesting contrast to the bright sky in Bloomin’ Señorita. Maybe a sign of the times?

I also made a fun little trio of gouaches that were inspired by a little wooden figurine family made by Wendt and Kuhn. They made me laugh… the Father Moon, Mother Sun, and Baby Star. I thought of those funny family photos we all take on family vacations. So I created some scenarios of a celestial family going on vacation to planet earth….and what they may find.

A little humor to end 2020. I’m ready for more light and hope in 2021 !

Be happy and well,

Holli Harmon

Beginnings and Ending

What? The end is near?…

that is my Califia exhibit ends

on the last day of summer.

I can’t believe we are half way through September. We only have one week left of the exhibit. If you haven’t seen it, you have until Monday, September 21st. The gallery is open everyday. Thank you Sullivan Goss! And thanks to all of you who have made it into the gallery, bought work, sent me nice notes, etc.

I feel like I missed summer and I missed our First Thursdays. But Califia will continue on in my studio. She is not done with me yet. Thank you to all of you who are my inspirations and have kindly supported my art practice.

I hope to see you before September 21, 2020 at Sullivan Goss!
